The company
Founded 15 August 2013.
We started as a service provider to the event industry, supplying sound systems, stage, lighting and truss covers to shows across Mauritius. The acoustics practice grew out of the same work. If you spend enough nights fighting a room, you start wanting to fix the room.
Today the company runs both. On one side, production for concerts, launches and corporate events. On the other, acoustic design for halls, studios, offices, industrial plant and places of worship, from the first reverberation calculation through to commissioning. We also provide consultancy and system calibration for other companies in the market.
Since 2019 we have run an acoustic branch in partnership with Kosi Expanda. The Radio 1 studio at The Docks was designed and built under it.

Thirteen years as a sound engineer, and the acoustic designer on every MakAcoustics project. He is front of house for AnneGa, Patyatann, Manu Desroches and Yvette Dantier, which keeps the company honest: the specifications we write are the ones we have to work behind.
That combination is the reason clients bring us in on the difficult jobs. A call centre floor that will not settle, a hall that was built before anyone thought about reverberation, a sound cancelling system that is not cancelling anything. Those need someone who can measure it and someone who can hear it, and it helps when that is the same person.
