For the
right sound.
MakAcoustics builds the sound of live events and the acoustics of the rooms they happen in. Sound systems, stage, lighting and truss for production teams. Acoustic design, soundproofing and commissioning for architects and contractors.
What we do
Two sides of the same job.
Most companies do one or the other. We run the system on the night and we design the room it plays in, which means the specification is written by the people who have to make it work.
Sound, stage, lighting and truss
We supply and run the technical side of live events across Mauritius. Systems are specified for the room and the audience size, rigged safely, and operated by engineers who mix for a living.
What we do → Acoustic engineeringRooms that behave the way they should
Reverberation modelling, absorption and isolation design, site follow up and commissioning. We measure the room, model the target, specify the build, and come back to verify it against the numbers.
What we do → Consultancy and calibrationFor the trade
Other companies in the market bring us in for system calibration and second opinions. If a system is not performing and you need someone independent to measure it and say why, that is work we take on.
What we do →Front of house for
Selected work
Commissioned, measured, signed off.
Every acoustic project below was calculated before it was built and verified after. Full list on the projects page.
Position
A room is a filter. We design the filter before anyone plugs anything in.
MakAcoustics Ltd was founded in 2013 as a service provider to the event industry, and grew an acoustics practice alongside it. Since 2019 we have run an acoustic branch in partnership with Kosi Expanda, under which we designed and built the Radio 1 studio at The Docks.
Our director, Natesh Makhan, is a sound engineer of thirteen years and the acoustic designer on every project we take. That is deliberate. The person who calculates the reverberation time is the person who has to mix in the room afterwards.
Next step
Tell us about the room, or the show.
Send us the drawings, the date, or just a description of the problem. We will come back with a scope and a quotation in Rs.
